Styling Abstract Decals with Rove Concepts

Last week we joined forces with Rove Concepts to create a mid-century, abstract daydream.

In case you didn’t know (and you really, really should), Rove Concepts is a furniture company known for their minimalistic, yet completely stunning, mid-century designs. Each piece is original and hand-crafted in small batches by artisans from around the world, guaranteeing high-quality perfection every time. Needless to say, we’ve been majorly obsessed and are lucky enough to have a few of their pieces in our warehouse! They’ve become something of a muse for us.

Inspired by the timelessly beautiful Tulip Table and Wishbone Chairs from Rove Concepts, we decided to give these showstoppers the unique backdrop they deserved. Something that enhanced their beauty, but would never distract from it.

Cue the very first decal pack of its kind: The Modern Abstract.

One of the largest decal packs that Urbanwalls has ever created, The Modern Abstract allows you to create an abstract art installation in your very own home. Using hexagons, triangles, asymmetrical paint strokes, and dot clusters that range in size from 2 inches to 33 inches, there’s no right or wrong way to layer or space this pack. Literally, it’s impossible to mess up!

For some extra variety, we’ve also added 163 gold metallic shapes to the pack, including half moons, arches, circles, and lines. The metallics are easily layered over or under the larger shapes for a technique that adds dimension to your design. And although the colored shapes come in blush, blue, nude, camel, and even white marble, the palette doesn’t detract from your décor or furniture pieces.

So, what’s the best way to install? We’re glad you asked! After installing these beauts ourselves, we wanted to let you in on an installation pro tip. Just as with our other decal packs, it always helps to first tack your shapes up with painters tape. But with this pack, it actually helps the flow of your design if you tack and apply the largest shapes first to give yourself a base before adding the smaller decals and accents. After you’ve done that, layer in whatever way best fits your space and style!

Last but not least, hurry over to Rove Concepts for your very own Tulip Table and Wishbone Chairs to properly crown your newly minted design. Personally, we can’t wait to use this amazingly versatile set with more decals sets to come!
